Well I haven't gotten to see a new episode of Hoarders in a long time. I'm not even sure it is on TV anymore. I have discovered "Clean House" now and it is on instant play thru Netflix. It actually is alot like Hoarders only they go in and clean everything up. I am absolutely stunned how many homes are so cluttered and filthy. It seems that no one makes their kids pick up their clothing off the floor anymore. I watched an episode last night where a man wanted them to come in to clean up so his girlfriend would have space to move in with him. Unfortunately he still had his 23-year-old twin sons still living with him! And he wasn't in any hurry to have them move out. O-M-G. 23 and they still slept in the same bunkbeds that they had had since they were 5. And their room was a mess - clothes everywhere, plates of old half-eaten food. It was disgusting. The difference between Clean House and Hoarders seems to be the degree of the hoarding. Clean House people are actually willing to get rid of stuff and seem pretty pleased when stuff is gotten rid of and everything is cleaned up and organized. It makes me feel good knowing that even on a messy day my home comes nowhere near the degree that these homes are on a regular basis.
Speaking of Netflix - tomorrow I'll be picking up my last DVD from them at the Post Office. Once I have it in my hot little hands I'll put in my cancel and only keep the instant play portion. I only have 3 movies left in my DVD queue and I could care less about actually seeing any of them. The last disc of Cake Boss is next up and, truly, I don't think I could stand watching even a half hour of Buddy Valastro and the other 2 DVD's are even worse. I'm not sure how they got in the queue anyway so it is definately time to dump that portion.
And now I've got to complain about the Post Office just because. Why does the PO close during lunch? I can't tell you how many times I have gone there during my lunch only to discover a package slip so I end up having to go back after work to pick up my package. Yesterday I got a package slip (it was 12:30 so of course the pickup window was closed). Well another woman also got a package slip and she started banging on the little door next to the pickup window. Finally the manager came to the door and she demanded her package and, here's the great part - he got it for her! I could tell he was ticked off but he did get it. I should have asked for mine too but I didn't. I ended up waiting outside in my car until the window opened back up. But maybe next time I will do it too since now I know he will retrieve it. I'd like to know why the Post Office doesn't have more convenient hours for their customers? There is always articles in the newspaper about how the USPS is losing money, not handling as many mail pieces, etc. Well I think not being convenient has allot to do with it.
